If you've tried to find Klue's price, you've noticed it isn't on the website. Every deal is quoted, so most teams only see a number once they're on a sales call. Plenty of buyers have shared what they paid, though. Across more than a hundred Klue purchases tracked by Vendr, the median is **about $30,000 a year**, and deals range from $16,000 to $60,000.

This article goes through what pushes a Klue quote up or down and what Crayon, Kompyte and the other CI platforms charge. It ends with what Calven costs, and why a product marketing platform is the better buy.

| Vendor | Price | Source, date read | Priced on |
|---|---|---|---|
| Klue | $30,000/yr median; $16,000 to $60,000 | 106 purchases, Vendr, 1 Sep 2026 | Users, tier, term |
| Crayon | $30,000/yr median; $12,700 to $46,000 | 93 purchases, Vendr, 1 Sep 2026 | Tracked competitors, then seats |
| Kompyte | Not published | Kompyte plans page, 1 Sep 2026 | Companies tracked, licences |
| Calven | $99/mo Individual; $9,600/yr Professional; from $19,200/yr Enterprise | [Calven pricing](/pricing), published | Plan; unlimited seats on team plans |

Deal data from [Vendr's Klue page](https://www.vendr.com/marketplace/klue), [Vendr's Crayon page](https://www.vendr.com/marketplace/crayon) and [Vendr's AlphaSense page](https://www.vendr.com/marketplace/alphasense); the rest from the vendors' own pages. Calven publishes this page. How the seven main tools score on eight criteria is in [the best competitive intelligence tools](/resources/comparisons/best-competitive-intelligence-tools).

## How much does Klue cost?

Klue costs about $30,000 a year at the median, and every deal is quoted. There is no rate card or calculator, and the Essentials, Professional and Enterprise tier names in circulation are Vendr's. Most Klue figures online, from "starts at $16,000" to Klue's own "$15k-$40k per year for dedicated platforms", trace back to that one Vendr dataset or describe the category rather than Klue.

Three things set the quote, per [Vendr's Klue buyer guide](https://www.vendr.com/buyer-guides/klue):

- **Users.** Pricing is per user, with volume discounts and a reported 5 to 10 user minimum.
- **Onboarding.** Quoted separately, in the low-to-mid five figures.
- **Modules.** Competitive intelligence and win-loss are sold separately. Based on available information, a Klue win-loss program runs roughly $55,000 to $85,000 a year on its own, so check which modules the $30,000 median covers before comparing it.

Vendr buyers saved 17.63% on average across 82 Klue deals. A Gartner Peer Insights reviewer flags the high price and a poor fit for small organizations.

## How much does Crayon cost?

Crayon competitive intelligence pricing lands where Klue's does: a $30,000 a year median across 93 Vendr purchases, a range of $12,700 to $46,000, and an average saving of 20.19% across 72 deals. The basis differs. Crayon's June 2026 terms say its scope "is typically limited by the number of Competitors Customer may use the Services to track", with seats second. [Vendr's Crayon buyer guide](https://www.vendr.com/buyer-guides/crayon) puts onboarding at 5% to 15% of contract value and extras at 15% to 30%, which makes a $30,000 contract a $36,000 to $43,500 first year. The product differences are in [Klue and Crayon side by side](/resources/comparisons/klue-vs-crayon), and the [cheaper Crayon alternatives](/resources/comparisons/crayon-alternatives) have their own page.

## How much do Kompyte and other competitive intelligence tools cost?

Like Klue, most competitive intelligence platforms quote every deal, and Calven is the only one here with a public price. Monitoring tools cost far less but stop at the alert.

Kompyte shows its plans without prices, and Vendr has no purchase data for it. Essentials covers 10 tracked companies and 25 licences, Professional 20 and 100, and Unlimited removes both caps. Onboarding, integrations and support are included, and competitors swap free. Kompyte now sits inside Semrush, which Adobe bought in April 2026, so teams up for renewal can compare the [Kompyte alternatives](/resources/comparisons/kompyte-alternatives).

AlphaSense has a $18,375 median contract across 40 Vendr purchases, priced per seat. It is a market research platform more than a battle card tool ([Klue versus AlphaSense](/resources/comparisons/klue-vs-alphasense)).

Contify and Valona Intelligence publish no price. Contify asks you to fill in a contact form ([Contify vs Klue](/resources/comparisons/contify-vs-klue) has the third-party estimate), and Valona offers "tailored packages".

Visualping (free, then $14 to $350 a month) and Competely ($39 to $99 a month) watch competitor pages and summarize changes. Neither builds battle cards or runs win-loss, so a person still acts on every alert.

## How does Calven's pricing compare to Klue?

There is a better way to buy competitive intelligence than another dedicated platform. Calven is a product marketing platform: competitive intelligence, win-loss included, is one part of it, alongside positioning and messaging, ICP and personas, customer voice and market research, and it costs about a third of the Klue median. Klue is a platform a curator runs; Calven runs the work with agents.

| | Klue (median deal) | Calven Professional |
|---|---|---|
| Annual price | $30,000, quoted | $9,600 billed annually, or $1,000 a month |
| Seats | Per user, 5 to 10 user minimum | Unlimited |
| Win-loss | Separate module | Included, unlimited interviews |
| Competitors | Unlimited, priced on users | 10 (20+ on Enterprise) |
| Onboarding | Quoted separately | Self-serve, 14-day trial with no card |
| Who keeps battle cards current | A curator | The Competitive Intelligence Agent |

Calven's [Competitive Intelligence Agent](/platform/research#competitive-intelligence) builds a sourced dossier on each competitor, watches their websites and docs, folds what changes back into the dossier and composes the battle cards from it. The [Win/Loss Agent](/platform/research#win-loss) interviews buyers by online survey or AI voice interview and explains why each deal was won or lost. Updates wait for approval by default, and approvals can be turned off. Professional connects to the CRM and call tools a team already uses, such as Salesforce and Gong, and the Slack app and [MCP server](/mcp) put the intel where reps and AI assistants already work.

The subscription is only part of the cost. The rest is the hours of whoever runs the tool, and that is the cost that ended one Klue contract:

> At Ataccama we paid $34,000 a year for Klue's enterprise licence. We cancelled because the team was still spending multiple person-days a month keeping everything up to date.
>
> — David Kolínek, Ex-VP of Product Marketing at Ataccama

Klue still fits one case Calven doesn't cover: a team that wants human researchers running its win-loss interviews, which Klue offers through DoubleCheck Research.

If the quote is the reason you're looking, the [Klue alternatives](/resources/comparisons/klue-alternatives) are priced side by side. If you're moving off Klue, [How to migrate off Klue or Crayon](/resources/competitive-intelligence/how-to-migrate-off-klue-or-crayon) covers the export, the open-source [Klue export tool](https://github.com/calven-ai/calven-migrate-from-klue) copies your cards and battlecards to files in one command, and a [Calven trial](/pricing) runs 14 days with no card.
